Partner and Founder of the firm. He was the Head Counsel for Banamex (National Bank of Mexico, CITI as of today) for more the ten years.

He was President of Legal Commissions for the FELABAN (Latin-American Bank Federation), of the Mexican Bankers Association and of the Mexican Banks Association. Professor of Roman law in the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City) and Mercantile Law in the Iberoamericana University (UIA).

Professor in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Universidad Panamericana (UP) and the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City). Interim Dean from 1978 and 1979 and Head Dean from January 1984 and November 1987 of Escuela Libre de Derecho. He is the author of the book “De las Obligaciones” (Civil Liabilities).

He was member of the Barra Mexicana de Abogados (Mexican Bar Association); of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados (National Association of Lawyers) and of the Academia Mexicana de Jurisprudencia y Legislacion (Jurisprudence and Legislation Mexican Academy).

Federal Judge of the Tribunal Federal Electoral (Federal Electoral Court) chosen by the Federal Congress House and proposed by the President of Mexico. From 1996-2000 he was elected President Minister of the Federal Electoral Court of Mexico.

Mexican Leaders magazine named him one of the 100 most important leaders of Mexico in the November 2000 edition. In October 2002, the Mexican Bar Association honored Professor De La Peza with the National Prize of Jurisprudence: highest recognition awarded by this Honorable Institution.

He was candidate to the Federal Supreme Court of Justice.
